Kylie Nicole Murray

Born on October 25, 1999, to beloved parents Geoff and Lisa Murray and sister to her loving older brother Ryan, Kylie was known by friends and family for her passion and vivacious personality and admired for her ability to seize every day with a smile on her face. She was well known in her community for many different roles, including First Presbyterian Church where she served as a Youth Deacon, at the Lake Forest Country Club where she coached diving and kept a watchful eye as a lifeguard, at Steamboat Ski Resort where she was a snowboard instructor and at CubAirFlight where she taught people how to fly taildraggers. She was a student athlete in soccer and swimming at Lake Forest High School where she graduated in 2018. Kylie’s truest love was being outdoors, and flying enabled her to express that passion. From the time she was a baby, she gravitated towards airplanes and flight, much like her brother and father, soloing for the first time in 2017. She went on to pursue a bachelor’s in aviation management at Auburn University, where she participated in Club Soccer, was a sister of the Pi Beta Phi sorority, and would have graduated this December. Kylie became a Certified Flight Instructor in 2020 and adored her job at CubAir, where she provided instruction to students across all phases of flight. She earned her seaplane rating in June, and was happiest in the skies, always chasing adventure with her signature grin across her face. Kylie’s physical abilities and skills were matched only by her genuine and spirited demeanor. She had a natural ability to make anyone feel at ease and celebrated and kept the people in her life laughing. In Kylie’s eyes, anyone was capable of anything and she would make sure you felt encouraged and loved every step of the way. She always gave a reminder not to take yourself too seriously and enjoy every minute of every day. She was a ray of sunshine. Kylie was a beloved daughter, sister, cousin, granddaughter, niece, and friend who will be missed terribly by all. Kylie is preceded in death by her grandmothers Judith Murray and Anna Sielski. She is survived by her loving parents Lisa and Geoff, her adoring older brother Ryan, her grandparents Donald Murray, and John Sielski, and by other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. There will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest, 700 N. Sheridan Road, Lake Forest at 11am, Thursday, August 5, 2021. Overflow parking will be available. The service will be live-streamed at https://firstchurchlf.online.church/. Immediately following the service, a Celebration of Life will be held at Exmoor Country Club, 700 Vine Avenue Highland Park. The family asks that guests wear bright, vibrant colors to reflect Kylie’s bright light and infectious joyful personality.
