Pamela Kelley Hull died peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, after a short illness on Wednesday, November 10, 2021. Pam was born to Daphne Field and Russell P. Kelley in Lake Forest on June 26, 1928. She was the granddaughter of Sara and Stanley Field and Lillian and William V. Kelley. She was preceded in death by her husband Roger B. Hull, her brother Russell P. Kelley, Jr., and her first husband and her children's father Vernon Armour of Lake Forest, IL., and her niece Jennifer Kelley Bemis. She is survived by her children: Linda (George) Kelly of Houston, TX; Cynthia (Colt) Landreth of Vero Beach, FL; Vernon K. (Miah) of Lake Bluff, IL; Gordon F. (Anne) of New Haven, CT; grandchildren Tony (Alicia) Ward; Win (Callie), Sara and Madeline Kelly; Frances (DuBose) Williamson, Vernon J. Armour, W. Wyatt Armour; Tobias, Charlotte and Robinson Armour; and great grandchildren George and Frances Kelly, and Field and Alec Williamson; her nephew Russell P. Kelley III (Lynn). A life-long resident of Lake Forest, Pam was devoted to family, friends, and beauty in gardens and the arts. She loved all things British, except the Rolling Stones. She attended The Bell School, Ethel Walker’s School, and Smith College. She was a Life Trustee of The Chicago Symphony Orchestra and president of its Women’s Board, president of the Lake Forest Garden Club, on the boards of The George Washington Foundation, and The Royal Oak Foundation. She served as a Life Trustee of The Field Museum and a Life Director of The Chicago Botanic Garden. She was a member of the Old Masters’ Society and The Antiquarian Society of The Art Institute of Chicago. Pam’s garden in Lake Forest was accepted into The Garden Club of America’s Archives of American Gardens Collection at the Smithsonian Institution. She also served on the Vestry of The Church of the Holy Spirit. She was happiest in her garden, either alone or hosting a party. Her kindness, generosity and elegance were cherished and will be missed by all. Pam’s children thank the following for their long service to their mother: Kim Coventry, Susie Duttge, Carmita Guerrero, Mary Hollins, Cappy Johnston, Cathy Lewis, Phyllis Navarro, Gilberto Ortiz, Dee Uribe. They were loyal to Pam, as she was to them. A service will be held at The Church of the Holy Spirit, 400 East Westminster Ave., Lake Forest, at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 15. In lieu of flowers, people are invited to make a donation to either The Chicago Symphony Orchestra or The Chicago Botanic Garden.
