Benjamin Goldstein

Benjamin Goldstein, 102, of Lake Forest, Illinois, passed away on January 13, 2021. Ben was an avid natural historian and photographer and retired from Abbott Laboratories where he worked as a chemist. He was a longtime member of the Chicago Area Camera Clubs Association, Riverwoods Nature Photographic Society, Nature Camera Club of Chicago, and the Photographic Society of America. With his wife, Alma, he photographed, researched, and presented over 600 narrated slide presentations on birds, trees, and wildflowers. They gave these presentations to group such as Ridges Sanctuary (Door County, Wisconsin), and numerous camera clubs and Audubon groups across the country. Ben was a WWII Navy veteran and was married to his wife for 54 years before her passing in 2006. Ben was born May 27, 1918 in Wooster, Ohio and graduated from Wooster High School in 1936. Ben is survived by nieces Becky, Julie, Sue (Beth), and Lindsay (Greg) Goldstein as well as nephews Scott (Vickie) and Kenneth (Ranae) Goldstein. Per Ben’s wishes there will be no funeral services.
