Marsha Diane Temple

Marsha Diane Temple, age 81, of Lake Forest, Illinois, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2024, in Lake Forest. She was born on July 10, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois, to her late parents, Abraham and Sally Duberchin. Her life was marked by unwavering kindness and a zest for life. Marsha was a graduate of Highland Park High School, and she attended Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois. She met her late husband, Lawrence R. Temple in 1967 on a blind date at Butch McGuire’s Tavern in the Gold Coast neighborhood of Chicago. Their connection was instantaneous, and it led to a 33 year marriage that was filled with growth and love. Together they would have four beautiful children: Robert, Andrew, April, and Lawrence. Marsha maintained an active social life that was a source of joy and fulfillment. Her friends were numerous, as Marsha's fun, energetic, and colorful nature always attracted an audience of admirers. Her adventurous spirit took her all over the world on a quest to visit 100 countries. Each journey was not just a trip for Marsha but an opportunity to immerse herself in new cultures and create lasting memories with loved ones. She was an active participant in her community, volunteering her time and energy to dozens of groups, organizations, and clubs. She was an avid reader and a diligent bridge player, usually consuming several books per week between games. Marsha's legacy of love and service has been carried on by her children, Robert (Kathleen), the late Andrew, April, and Lawrence Temple; her grandchildren Robert, Kathleen, and James Temple; as well as her sisters Janet McCarthy and Gail (Jerry) Baccetti. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lawrence (2000) and son, Andrew (2013). Marsha's life was a testament to her kind spirit, and she will be missed by all who have had the pleasure of knowing her. Visitation will be on Monday, August 5, 2024 starting at 9:00 AM at Church of St. Mary, 175 E. Illinois Road in Lake Forest, followed by the Funeral Mass beginning at 10:00 AM.
