Edward C. Hoover

Edward C. Hoover, 89, of Lake Bluff, IL and Cleveland, Ohio, passed away on November 10, 2021. Born May 30, 1932 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Thomas and Kathleen Hoover and lived 83 years in Cleveland with the last 6 years in Lake Bluff, lovingly cared for by his daughters and grandchildren. Devoted husband of the late Adrienne L. Hoover. Beloved Father of Rhea Hoover, Tom Hoover and Rebecca (Scott) Quackenbush. Cherished brother of Kathleen. He is preceded in death by his siblings Thomas, Barbara, Robert, Mary Louise, and Raymond. Adored by his grandchildren Joe Czekaj, Nick Czekaj, Anna Czekaj, Jason Hoover, Allison Quackenbush and Scotty Quackenbush. His wife, children and grandchildren were his greatest joy and he in turn, brought them laughter and plenty of comedy. Ed grew-up in Cleveland, Ohio. He was a medic in the Army and served his country proudly, along side his brothers. After attending Seminary, he married Adrienne Serio and was by her side, lovingly caring for her through 10 years of illness until she was called home to our Merciful Lord. They were parishioners of Our Lady of Angels Church in Cleveland, Ohio for over 45 years and sacrificed so their children could attend Our Lady of Angels Catholic Elementary School, St. Joseph Academy and Cleveland Central Catholic High Schools. Ed was a Eucharistic Minister of Holy Communion and served the local hospitals faithfully as a Minister of Care bringing comfort and Our Lord Jesus to the sick. Ed and Adrienne were fervent volunteers in their parish community, their children’s schools and always present to their thankful children as family and God were first priority. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ed’s memory to the Church of St. Mary. A Mass of Resurrection will be held on November 20, 2021 at 10:00am at the Church of St. Mary, 175 E. Illinois Road, Lake Forest, Illinois.
